We're West of the Pecos, Pardner!

From Del Rio we traveled west along Highway 90 to see some more of southwest Texas before going into New Mexico. The terrain changed as we drove and we were surprised to come upon the Pecos River so quickly.  It happened so quickly, in fact, that we missed the photo opportunity.  The Pecos is beautiful blue and runs deep through some mighty nice rocky territory.

We're on our way to Alpine to stay overnight before heading south on Texas 118 to see Big Bend National Park. There is so little traffic on the highways here. We keep a close check on the fuel gauge to be sure we don't find ourselves stranded along the roadways.  Note: There are lots of rattlesnakes here ... among other varmints.

Here are some pictures we did manage to snap.

This was a pee-pee break for Lexie.
It was Pop's turn.
