Drinking Bees

Real campers enjoy the great outdoors and I'm no exception.  We spend most daylight hours outside and we're really taking advantage of the terrific fall temperatures.  Last week at Chewacla State Park, while working around the campsite, I was enjoying a bottle of delicious cold Lipton Green Tea.

As I put the final touch on my beautiful, well-crafted campfire I hoisted the Lipton Green Tea bottle to enjoy the last swallow. In an instant, I spewed the contents everywhere as I felt a bee sting the roof of my mouth. The small, yellow and black striped bee lay dead on the ground; but before he died he gave me some real pain!

This wasn't the first time I'd made the incredibly stupid decision not to recap the bottle.  Bees like sweets and the green tea was sweet. Fortunately, the pain did subside and I recovered fully by bedtime.

I recap the bottles now.
