Balboa Park and Old Town San Diego

Our last day of "outings" in the San Diego area are to Old Town and Balboa Park where we had seen the Zoo on a previous trip here.  I am probably one of the few people who do not find Balboa Park to be a favorite place, but I don't. Probably because I'm not a museum or art lover. Nature is more our "thing" I think.  The gardens area is the only area that interests us on this trip so we enjoyed looking through the rose garden and the native plant area.  The weather is really good today but is expected to deteriorate for the next week so we take advantage of the warm sunshine in this garden setting for a good long while.

Oh, but I do love these trees. This one is at Balboa Park entrance.
Lexie and me in one of the rose gardens.

And I really can appreciate the desert plants!

Lexie has found something here that interests her.
Perhaps a good place to pee.
We had already visited Old Town but didn't drive through the more "touristy" part so we did that today. Only one or two pictures...

We made plans to move on toward Los Angeles in an effort to avoid the rain, dropping temperatures and/or high winds predicted for the next few days.
