Old CMA Cadets Rule

From Bella Terra of Gulf Shores     A few of Wayne's CMA (Columbia Military Academy) friends have planned another reunion at Bob and Kim's house on Guntersville Lake.  We decided to drive the truck, take the dogs and stay in a hotel instead of driving the coach. Rain was predicted for the region over the next few days and we don't relish the thought of driving the coach in bad weather. Our two nights were spent at Wyndham Garden hotel directly on the lake in Guntersville.

Steve, Dan, Bob, Kim, Wayne and I met on Friday afternoon for pizza on the patio. As usual, Kim has a big smoked barbeque feast planned for the following afternoon. Their large patio is delightful with lots of tables and comfortable seating.

As we all went our separate ways Friday evening, Bob suggested we all reconvene for breakfast Saturday. In the end, Wayne and I would join Steve, Bob and Kim for all three meals that day. Bob cooked breakfast, we bought fried chicken for lunch and the highlight of the day, Bar-B-Q and fixins' were enjoyed for dinner... A short while later, thunder, lightening and a hard, steady rain forced the group inside... just as it had done last time we were together here. Dejavue.

Ozzie and Lexie enjoy a rare day outdoors without pens or leashes.

This year's group: Dan Duke, Steve Vagnier, Bob Bell, John Clanton, Phil Fikes and Wayne Smalley

Jim Borum (center) with his young cousins, Chris and Jake joined us Saturday.

Oh the stories these guys tell. Over and over.... bigger and more outrageous everytime.

Bob's wife, Kim is always the best hostess.
Until they all meet again, stay safe and well, cadets.

  1. That is a beautiful patio and yard. And good friends to enjoy it with. Perfect.
